One Life to Live

September is up and running (and almost over)! The new fall schedule is launched and a sense of meaningful productivity has replaced the spaciousness of summer.

But a harmonious and fulfilled life includes both spaciousness and meaningful productivity. If you are like me, sometimes the productivity leans towards robotic and your heart begins to feel stymied.

Do you feel busy, but stagnant? Like your routine or to-do list runs the day and there is very little time and space for YOU? It’s even worse if your life has all the trappings of success with your discontent kept hidden like a dirty, little secret.

It’s OK to want more. In fact, I believe it is an essential part of being human to dream big and desire more. Whatever it is that you want, I trust that the change you desire is a vehicle that is meant to propel you towards how you’re meant to show up in the world.

Wanting more from life can feel scary. How can you begin to make meaningful changes without rocking the boat of your pretty good, stable life? How can you sustainably incorporate more into your already full days?

How can you not?

Your life is too precious, too brief to not listen to your heart’s longings. If it has been a long time since you’ve given this part of you any attention, you may need to start small by simply noticing what piques your curiosity. Spend some time daydreaming and being present with yourself. And if you know exactly what your unrealized dream is, start envisioning it until you can hear, smell, see, and taste the day it will come true.

I believe, down to my toes, that the world benefits when we listen to our curiosity and follow our dreams. We are meant to listen to our intuition and we are meant to live more fulfilled lives.

Maybe you can name what is next for you, but haven’t given it your attention given the busy-ness of life, or have felt too guilty to indulge time and resources on a far-reaching or amorphous dream. Or maybe it has been so long since you’ve listened to (and aligned with) your heart that you can’t clearly hear what calls you. Either way, now is the time and this is your invitation.
